London, UK – 19 March 2012: Yospace, the global leader in distributing video content to multiple platforms, has appointed Graham Pitman as chairman of its board. The appointment reflects the critical convergence between the traditional broadcast industry and the world of IP distribution, and comes at a time when Yospace is launching a revolutionary technology platform which will transform the way that broadcasters build revenues from online content.

Pitman was one of the founding directors of Pro-BEL in 1977, which rapidly grew to be one of the world’s most successful suppliers of core broadcast infrastructure, and a pioneer in playout automation.  He led the merger of Pro-BEL with Snell and Wilcox and is now deputy chairman of Snell. With his additional role as vice chairman of the IABM, Pitman brings a wealth of sector and M&A experience to Yospace.“It was clear to us that the next stage – the revolutionary stage – in content distribution lies in enabling broadcasters to achieve their ambition of reaching and retaining audiences on whatever platform they prefer at the time,” said Tim Sewell, CEO of Yospace. “We have unique technology which is already exciting the broadcasters who are trialling it and we can’t wait to see the reaction at its NAB launch this year.“Graham is the perfect choice for Yospace,” Sewell continued. “With his long history of being involved in broadcasting, together with his considerable connections, he knows exactly how to build market momentum. His background is also around integration, and this will help us build the right alliances and partnerships.”“Yospace is exciting because it offers a workflow which is disruptive technically and commercially,” Pitman added. “The products being launched at NAB are game-changers. The TV-Everywhere transition is upon us, but the ability for broadcasters to monetise their “everywhere” content is not easy. Yospace makes it easy. The Yospace architects have the relevant technology and have recognised the opportunity to enter the market. It is a genuine privilege to be able to offer guidance to this growing business.”Yospace is exhibiting at NAB on booth SU8503.
